Since 1974, Legal Services for Maine Elders has been protecting the rights of older Mainers. Their mission is to provide free, high-quality legal services to people who are 60 and older when their basic human needs are at stake and advocate for people facing challenges accessing Medicare benefits. This presentation will focus on surrogate decision making and what options Mainers have and the differences between them which includes, Powers of Attorney, Advanced Health Care Directives, the differences between those and Wills and “living wills” and health care powers of attorney. The presenter will have handbooks, brochures, and other various frequently asked questions handouts to provide to people. This program is brought to you by Augusta Age-Friendly.
