In this hands-on activity, participants will create their own paper using misprinted newspaper from the Portland Press Harold. By creating paper from material that would've otherwise been thrown away or recycled, participants will better understand how we can reduce waste by giving it another life.
Students from the Hall-Dale Taiko Drumming group will be performing at the Library in the Community Meeting Room. What is Taiko drumming? In Japanese, Taiko literally means “drum,” and it can have various other names such as wadaiko, or “big drum.” The drums create a loud, exciting, and booming sound.
We had our first ever Repair Cafe last week and it went great! A big thank you to our amazing volunteers who brought their skills, tools, friendliness, and expertise. Knowledge was gained, connections were made, and a variety of items were repaired! We hope to have a Repair Cafe again soon 😊
